about guy beynon

A talented operatic tenor and recent postgraduate of the Royal Academy of Music, Guy brings passion, professionalism, and artistry to every stage of his musical journey.

​

Alongside his performance work with leading UK opera companies, he offers tailored vocal tuition for singers of all levels. Whether on stage or in the teaching studio, Guy shares his love of music through expressive performance and supportive, individualised voice coaching.

biography

Guy is a first-class graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music and recently completed his Master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied under Adrian Thompson and Anna Tillbrook.

This year, he joins Longborough Opera Festival, covering the roles of Aeneas and the Sailor in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, while also performing in their production of Rossini’s The Barber of Seville.

​

Guy has appeared with Hampstead Garden Opera (HGO) as part of The Fairy Queen by Purcell, a performance that earned him a nomination for an Off West End (‘Offie’) Award for Best Opera Performance. Other notable operatic roles include Torquemada in Ravel’s L’Heure Espagnole with the Ernest Read Symphony Orchestra and multiple performances with Bampton Classical Opera, where he appeared in Haydn’s Lo Speziale (Semprionio) and La Canterina (Apollonia), as well as Salieri’s La Fiera di Venezia (Rasojo), a production shortlisted in the ‘Rediscovered Works’ category at the International Opera Awards.

During his time at the Royal Academy, Guy performed in The Rake’s Progress, directed by Frederic Wake-Walker, and became a regular soloist in the Academy’s Bach in Leipzig series, collaborating with world-renowned conductors such as Masaaki Suzuki and John Butt.

​

Beyond opera, Guy is a passionate interpreter of song. He has found success in several competitions, winning the Marjorie Thomas Art of Song Prize for Best Overall Recital and the Flora Nielsen French Song Prize. Additionally, he was awarded second place in the prestigious Joan Chissell/Rex Stephens Schumann Lieder Prize.
